A Rainy Day in Paris - Jan 10, 2023

Today was quite a nice day even though it was raining, thankfully not until later. As a part of our integration week, we were SUPPOSED to go to the Palais Galleria Fashion Museum of Paris to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit. But unfortunately, not a lot of people were interested or had class, and by the time I got there, they ran out of tickets.

the fashion museum - which I will probably go back to on my own

Before leaving, I did look around to see what was in the area. I managed to find two places I would like to see again. The first is the Yves Saint Laurent museum.

The other place I would like to go back to is Palais de Tokyo.

Once it started getting cold, I decided to walk to Carette - which was only a 10-minute walk.

I found this cafe on Instagram with a rating of 5/5 for its thick and rich hot chocolate. I'm not one to take photos of food or drinks, but the presentation of it all. My god.

They definitely make it an experience.

After Carette, I met with other ISC international/exchange students at Le Gloster for some fancy cocktails. Once everyone arrived, we had a few drinks and went to an all-you-can-eat sushi place.

The Eiffel Tower at night is stunning, to say the least - on my way to Le Gloster.

At the all-you-can-eat sushi place, we ordered 18 rolls/dishes. I will say the sushi in France is nothing like sushi in Vancouver - some rolls had cheese in them (disgusting), and the rolls were mostly the same. We did about three rounds. But one of the group members ended up ordering more for himself - which he immediately regretted.

Surprisingly, he ate most of it but eventually hit a wall with about 12-ish rolls remaining. Things got interesting when he started pretending to eat while putting the rolls in a napkin. Since he would have had to pay €2/roll remaining, unfortunately, it was a bit of an early night. But it was all had a great night!

Tomorrow, we'll be going to the Louvre - I will most likely not take pictures. I don't see the point of taking pictures of paintings since the experience isn't the same through images.
